Online Eight Week Compassion Cultivation Training™(CCT) For Clergy with Dr. Dent Gitchel 

Wednesdays, June 10th – August 5th, 2020 (No Class July 22nd) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.  (Limited to 20 participants).

Participants will receive:

  • A CCT workbook
  • A password protected website with guided meditations and other class resources
  • Over 20 hours of guided meditations in both streamable and downloadable mp3 formats. The meditations were done by Thupten Jinpa and Kelly McGonigal of CCARE, and Dr. Gitchel.

REGISTRATION AND COST:

Through an initiative of the Compassion Institute, this course is being offered for FREE to ordained clergy. All participants must meet these qualifications and register. Note that the going rate for this course and similar courses (i.e. MBSR) in most locations is typically $300-$500.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Dr. Gitchel is a faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was one of the first persons certified as a teacher of Compassion Cultivation Training™ (CCT) through the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University and is a facilitator of Mindfulness Based Emotional Balance (MBEB). He has been selected three times as a Senior Investigator for the Mind and Life Summer Research Institute. He has presented CCT workshops and talks and workshops on Mindfulness and Compassion at a wide variety of organizations, including: Christ Episcopal Church (Little Rock), UALR, CHI St. Vincent Hospital, Hendrix College, Columbia College, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Alye (Texas) Methodist Church, the International Symposium on Contemplative Studies, The Mindfulness and Compassion Conference, Arkansas State Hospital, Arkansas Victims Academy, Arkansas Rehabilitation Association Annual Conference, Arkansas Counseling Association Annual Conference, Tibet House (NYC) and the 92nd Street Y (NYC).
