The Max Plank Institute released an open-access multimedia book on Compassion research, education and applications. This is an excellent resource and could have easily been a highly-selling text. It takes a few minutes to download but is well worth the wait. Some of the authors are developers of our CCT program (Rosenberg, Cullen, Jinpa and Weiss-Eckstrom). There are also audio and video features to this ebook, and chapters dealing with some of the science stuff we alluded to, as well s the distinction between empathy and compassion which came up several times. There is an excellent chapter which gives an overview of our CCT course: http://www.compassion-training.org

Certificate in Engaged Compassion through Triptykos. Triptykos was founded in 2009, by three friends who wanted to address the lack of practical training in compassionate living and activism.  Grounded in the Christian tradition, Frank Rogers, Andy Dreitcer, and Mark Yaconelli were familiar with core Christian teachings to ‘love enemies,’ ‘pray for those who persecute you,’ ‘forgive others,’ and ‘love others as you love yourself’–the problem was no one taught how to embody these teachings in a practical way.
